EcoVision Lab
The EcoVision Lab does research at the frontier of machine learning, computer vision, and remote sensing to solve ecological questions. Its objective is to invent original, data-driven methods at the interface of computer science, ecology, and engineering that analyse environmental data at very large scale automatically. Our research centers on innovative (deep) machine learning and big data analysis technology to solve open scientific questions in ecology, the geosciences, and the environmental sciences.

ETH4D
ETH4D aims to combine technological innovation with a profound understanding of people’s behavior and their environments to identify new solutions for improving the lives of poor people. ETH4D therefore supports research, which combines the knowledge and skills of engineering, the natural and the social sciences and promotes the collaboration between scientific research, civil society, industry and policy.
ETH4D aims to educate the future leaders of sustainable development. ETH4D will train a new generation of engineers and natural scientists able to develop, implement and scale world-changing innovations with a global perspective.
World Food System Center
The WFSC was established at ETH Zurich based on the belief that the real-world solutions needed to tackle the challenges our food system faces require collaboration from global and local stakeholders across the entire food value chain. In order to do this, we support multi- and transdisciplinary approaches to addressing these challenges through research, education, and outreach activities that contribute to sustainable food security.
